Metal tag embossing systems, can produce embossed or debossed letter and numeric characters on metal tags. Dot peen metal tag marking systems use metal pins that permanently indents the tag to create indented dot peen letters, numbers, special characters and graphics. These systems have the capability to produce a 2D data matrix barcode on metal tags. These metal tags can be scanned with a 2D barcode portable scanner to collect data for storing and tracking.

Metal tag laser marking systems use a laser beam to ​etch and ​engrave letters, numbers, special characters as well as barcodes and graphics.
